Guidelines for the use of Forensic Hypnosis
1. Hypnosis applied within current laws and legal judgments.
2. The hypnosis subject's wellbeing is always a top priority.
3. Avoid using hypnosis with young children.
4. Information obtained must be corroborated with other investigative tools.
5. The hypnotist should be a trained professional and they should understand the legal parameters.
6. The use of hypnosis should be appropriate to the case.
7. The subject should be fully informed about the procedures and provide written consent.
8. Avoid using hypnosis with subjects who are defendant or suspects.
9. The Forensic Hypnosis session should be recorded on audio or video.
10. The Forensic Hypnotist must remain unbaised. The Forensic Hypnotist should never
hypnotize a subject in a case in which they are an investigator.
